I've searched around and couldn't find what I'm looking for. I got a '92 hb and the light switch on the left side burnt. I cannot drive at night unless I get this fix. My mechanic wants to charge me $50 to put this piece in, he said he have to take the steering wheel off. I went to pick up this piece at the junkyard today and the guy told me no need to take off the sw. I've searched and some people said no need to take 'em off. I got the 2 little screws and one big screw off but couldn't remove the switch. Seems like the sw were blocking the way of the center part. What to do guys? Please help me save $50.
i'll take a look at mine tomorrow and give you an update on how to do it. I have done it before without removing the steering wheel. Rotate the steering wheel to access all the screws, it might take a little force to pull the old light switch out. I'll take a look tomorrow and let you know for sure. Don't pay him $50, you need a new mechanic. This is like a 5-10 minute job.

Ok the main questions is, how many screws are suppose to come off? Where can I find the srs main harnness? The diagram are kind of hard to tell, but realistic pics would help so much. Can I just disconnect the battery instead? How can I pry off the switch?
Yeah, and pull OUT (towards the driver door) once you have the screws off. I wondered WTF the first time I did this too ... so you're not alone.

I hired a craigslist mechanic to show me how to do it. He charged way cheaper than my mechanic. People online doesn't explain it that clearly. I had trouble taking it off because of the small tiny lock underneath the casing. Just push it down with a phillip screw driver and you're good to go.
