LS/VTEC Turbo Idle Surge Problem
Hey guys this is my first time on the forum I cant seem to find anyone else with the same problem as me so i figured id try to get some feedback. I have my wastegate at 10psi and I built everything myself and have been driving around for a week or so without any problems and has a base tune from ty tech. I hit full boost today in first gear and pushed in the clutch to stop(Taking my friend for a ride in a parking lot i was being a dic* *ead) and at that moment my car started to have idling problems. It goes from 1500rpm and surges to 4500 rpm and repeats every couple seconds. I tried unplugging the map sensor in the thorottle body and it idles smooth but extremely rich and smokes a lot. Is this a simptom that it needs to be replaced? I have a b16 head with ctr cams Port n Polish and better valve springs (cant recall the brand name off hand) Blox 68mm thorottle body edelbrock victor x intake manifold (cheap autozone intake gasket and head gasket) stock injectors fuel pump rail and regulator. Nothing looks to be leaking anywhere as far as vacuum lines and charge pipes. Stock b18 bottom end with pr4 pistons type r trans with lsd and a 6 puck clutch. has a step down to a chipped obd1 ecu (p78?) if anyone has any insight (haha sry honda joke...Honda Insight?...not funny?...ok sry...anyways) it would be greatly appreciated.
What exactly do you mean by "base tune" from ty tech?
do you mean they did a basemap for your setup?
It sounds like a problem with the tune, if ty tech is a shop (and not just a vendor) I would take it back to them.

Check for a vacuum leak first off! Look at all your hoses! But, that's a huge swing in idle. I've never heard of a surge so large. Also, if you're running 10psi I wouldn't do that on the stock map sensor. They are only good up to 11psi and your boost will surge in colder weather. But try a new map out if you have no leaks.
