Just checking if anyone lost their oil cap while driving? Not sure if the cap was loose or just popped off? Been over a month since I changed the oil and touch the cap. Thanks

 

Are the threads stripped?

 

No seems fine just put a new one on

buddies oil cap literally borke at the threads. Weird, guess it is user error.

 

no didn't lose oil no smoke or anything. found out it was missing when i started my car up and heard a pop sound then i opened the hood and saw it was gone. if it was loose i guess it took over a month to come off. weird!!!! thanks everyone

 

my mugen flew off but thats cause my dumb *** loosened it

 

My oil cap was lost my a Honda service tech. It threw a code a day later....

 

A little OT, but the oil cap on my Grand cherokee has to be the worst design in the world. It regularly breaks in a way so that when you go to unscrew it, the top spins free of the threaded part and it just clicks like a child saftey cap on a bottle of pills. I have to break the top off and then use pliers to spin the threaded part out. However, if you need oil and don't have a set of pliers- your F'd! Dumbest thing in the world. After the second one broke, I found a cheap replacement that didn't have this stupid design. /rant
