Default AC compressor issue. Please help.

I have a 2002 RSX-S and my ac works at night most of the time..During the day it barely works..here are my symptoms..
1. AC works at night most of the time..
2. AC works rarely during the day.
3. The air is either ice cold or hot not in between.
4. At night when the AC works the compressor cycles are long..
5. The compressor kicks on at night for about 3 mins and kicks off for up to 5 mins blowing room temp.
6. During the day the AC rarely works but when it does its ice cold.
7. It seems if the rpm goes past 4k the ac compressor shuts off..*seems like*

The ac was checked with a proper gauge not a diy gauge. The condensor fan works as it should. I have not vac or recharged the system yet because when the ac works its super ice cold..so cold i have to shut it off..but when it doesnt work it blows like the heater is on..I got a diagnosis of the compressor clutch and coil going bad..but I dont want to replace the compressor if it could be some thing minor like a clogged dryer or pressure switch..Any opinions or diy quick little fixes will be greatly appreciated!

im not sure..the guy at my friends shop told me the pressure levels were where they were supposed to be..he tested to see if the compressor was getting power and it was..but the compressor wasnt kicking on..so he concluded that its the clutch and coil..but a second opinion is always good too..

... idk cause stock is expensive.. they can be rebuilt

when doing them i replace the coil and thermal protector everytime.
thats 100 bucks
clutch set is like 150
or a whole new unit is 400.. i think u can rock the math on yer own
