Few technical detail Q's for EK rear disc.
I've spent the last 2 days on searches and Tech archives and answered all the general Q's and added alot of contradictions as well. Just a couple little pieces I'm not finding answers.
Vehicle in question: '99 EX coupe.
Here is what I'm going with and what I've found to draw the best picture I can.
I'm going with Scarebird brackets in the rear and read that I can use '02-'03 Civic Si (EP3) rear rotors, for the 4 lug. For the calipers you can use EP3 or Prelude, and from cross refrencing part numbers, pretty much all Prelude's from '92-01 will work and you have to swap them side to side so the bleeder will face up.
As far as the fronts, my car has bigger brakes already stock and I got a set of integra calipers, slightly larger piston, for free so what the heck.
First question:
I've got a line up on a set of '99 Prelude rear caliper's, so those are the ones I'd be using.
Which caliper brackets for rear? EP3 or Prelude? and I know pads are dictated by the bracket used.
Next Q:
Which rubber brake hose from the caliper to hard line in the rear??
'99-00 Si parking cables fit best but is it the same hook-up on the Prelude calipers?
Now on to the Master Cylinder and Proportioning Valve.
My car is NON-ABS and has a 7/8" Master Cylinder. I've read that '97-01 Prelude Master Cylinder is a direct replacement w/ a 1" bore. I'm not sure if they all have ABS or if it would matter? Will this work or what have/would you use?
As far as the proportioning valve goes, there is much debate whether or not you need it, but I'd like to for my piece of mind.
Do I need a proportioning valve from a NON-ABS car?? If so, which application is good replacement?
Hope this all makes sense, fine line between informative and to the point.
Thanks for ANY good input in advance!
