Icon2 Sway Bar End Links - OEM vs Aftermarket

Hello,

I just picked up some front and rear sway bar end links from the dealership. The old ones need replacement and i thought that i should go with the OEM ones, even if it is a bit more expensive.

Well, when i picked them up today I was rather shocked at the bill: $497 for both front and rear end links.

So my question is: Is it worth it for the OEM end links, or are aftermarket ones more than adeqaute?

in my experience, aftermarket ones should be adequate. 497 is nuts

Thanks! When i placed my order on the phone i asked the guy how much they would be, he said that it shouldn't be that much, but he would have to call me back with a price becuase he has to place the order to get final pricing.

I ussually like to stick with OEM so i said don't worry about it. Well, now i am worrying about it. half a grand for 4 little metal pieces is ridiculous.

aftermarket should be just fine. the only time i insist on honda is if its an internal engine part. especially when you can save like 300 by going aftermarket

Holy. Next time try Energy Suspension, or even autozone. OEM is good, but aftermarket will usually do the job. Also check here: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...artsSearch.jsp
Im betting its significantly cheaper. Ive bought tons of stuff from them.

Before you get all pissy at your dealership let me clue you in to whats going on. US list prices are ridiculously low compared to Canada's. I used to work for a honda dealer in New Brunswick, I remember before I started working there I used to go on bk hondaparts to look up part numbers and just take them to the dealership to save the parts people some time, I remember seeing Canadian prices being up to 8x higher! After I started working there I was able to see cost prices, our dealership paid sometimes 4 times as much as something retailed for in the US. Its not the dealership's fault, blame Honda Canada.

Btw, Majestic honda ships to Canada now? They wouldn't last summer, I placed my order and kept wondering why I never got anything (can't remember for sure, but I don't even think I got a confirmation email) so finally I emailed them and they said they were no longer shipping to Canada.

Ya, they sent me an email saying they no longer ship. They really should remove Canada as an option for your address...

bkhondaparts may ship to Canada, i'm not sure I never tried, or if you know someone in the states get the stuff shipped to them and then have them ship it to you.

Blox adjustales or even something from a parts store is good. I think i paid 80 something for 2 sets of blox adjustables shipped from jhp.

But 500 for endlinks is crazy.
