1998 Honda accord oil mixing with coolant still after gasket change!! Help or advice!
I have a 1998 accord with a 2.3 ULEV 4cylinder motor and it has 127k on it. I bought it and the oil was mixing in the coolant system. I replaced the head gasket head bolts and had the cylinder head machined. The problem came right back. What else could it be?? Should I just replace the gasket again? Any help would be appreciated??
You're definitely not the first person to have this problem, and won't be the last - I've seen it happen at least a dozen times. The problem isn't the head gasket. You likely have a cracked sleeve, block, or head. I never recommend replacing head gaskets with the F23A4; they're a bit notorious for this problem. You should have just replaced the whole engine from the start. You can often pick up a complete used engine from a local salvage yard with a 6-month part-only warranty for as little as $250.
u have a block problem, its cracked, it causes the oil to join the antifreeze. or it could be a cracked head. chk her out!
take the head off and look to see inside the cylinders if there is antifreeze in there, and check if there is oil in the water jackets....u have cracked head/block!
