When i'm shifting to 1st gear completely and take off slowly i hear a little grinding noise. Same with 2nd gear. Is it because i need new tranny fluid or what? Any advice?

 

did u check the clutch and slave cylinder?`

 

approximate mileage on tranny? approximate time/mileage since last tranny fluid change? if you dont know either answer with certainty i would change the fluid and run some honda mtf/atf. its about 7/qt and a b-series will need ~2.1 qts and a d-series will need 1.8 qts. good luck

 

"Grinding"? It doesn't sound like a bearing growl does it?

Do you also get a humming or growling noise while sitting still in neutral with the clutch pedal out? Does the noise go away when you push the clutch in?

If so, you have a bad mainshaft bearing(s). Has the transmission ever been run low on oil? Have you ever used gear oil in the transmission instead of the required engine oil or MTF?
