Situation has gotten bad to worst. Pulled the ingnition switch to by pass the cylinder lock. I driled out the lock but my steering colum locks up, how do I disable the entire steering wheel lock mechanism. Im in a middle of road trip in SoCal, & neeed this resolve hopefully by tomorrow. Or I may have to rent a car to get my family back home in time for work on Morning.
I dont trust the lock system, well enouph to travel back home, help help!

Thanks to all whom help out. I made it home, after a nice 8 hr. drive from SoCal. I did see the release tab, it unlock the valve train (Gear Shift). I ended up removing the entire ignition lock assembly, it comes out intact as one, the lock cylinder does not separate, so I was looking at the entire unite. It was the only way to do it. Went to auto zone, the part is not cheap, $450.00 (aftermarket), cheaper version for $250.00 (made in Ecuador). I may have to go to dismantler or wrecking yard. Gotta do the research as to what other cars are compatible?

If you can post some pics, I can get you one from Japan, used part, I need to see very good pics of all sides and what other electrical items are attached, no alarm system, right. Immobilizer.

OEM from a recycled low milage car with new bolts to hold it together, dont be misled as I wont mislead you, new parts in Japan, LOL, they rip their own people off as bad as the stealerships in the USA. Its really sad here, you cant buy much of anything here cheap anymore. I will say my shipping is dirt cheap as is the used parts (should be, I didnt check yet, need more info).

I maybe interested. The cheapest bid I've gotten has been aftermarket for $230.00 plus shipping from Napa Auto part store, witch my causing owns. I have always wanted to visit Japan, but if your rip me off, I will fly over check out a few tourist hot spots and enjoy ur culture and sushi, and will surely kick ur gritty *** before I board a plane to head back home. I’m just kidding, but I've heard great things about Japan, & would love the opportunity to visit some day.

I would need some great pics and what month and year exactly the vehicle was manufactured, then no problem me thinks. If you want to come here, better bring tons of cash, the exchange rate is the lowest in more than 15 years and getting worse.

You do realize that a complete brand new OEM steering lock assembly (complete with ignition switch contact assembly and keys) only costs about $280 from Honda, right . . . ? They can also be bought for as little as $210 + shipping online.

Part number 35100-S10-A04 . . .

To figure out if I can get the exact same used part here, I would need several pics so I would be sure that its the same part from a JDM vehicle, now that someone has posted a part number, you can verify if that is correct and we can go from there. Of course changing the ignition cylinder also means not you will need two keys to use your vehicle, one for the door and a new one for the ignition cylinder.

Just the actual key part, right? Not the switch?
Disconnect the battery. Turn your steering wheel 90 degrees either way. There are four small holes on the back of the wheel. Poke a small screwdriver or piece of coat hanger into each hole to release the airbag. Unplug the bag and set it aside. Take the horn contact out and put it where you won't lose it. Take off the steering wheel nut and pull the wheel off with a puller. Take out the screws in the bottom of the steering column collar. Put the key in and turn it to the "ON" position. Insert a small Allen wrench in the hole above the ignition lock, and the lock will pop out.

Not at all. The procedure he described won't work for any Honda that I'm aware of.
