Not enough info.. what exactly was the mod you were doing? cut any wires? did you check the connector or bulb?

i was trying to have my front turn signal connected with my front side marker. so i spliced the sidemarker wires and connected to the front turnsignal. i was getting power the from the sidemarker wires. well they came on fine but when i turned my headlights on the sidemarker lights went off. i connected everything to its orignal state and now my sidemarker wont come on. i checked the bulb, fuses and everything is fine it just does not come on at all or blink. but the front turn signal and back turn signal still work.

I am wondering if the bulbs are blown, can you move them to another location to test them or use an ohm meter to see if they are open. Do you only have two wires going to the side markers, I am thinking that it does not matter how you rewired them if there are only two wires, if there are more than two wires involved then make sure you didnt get two wires that are the same color in the wrong location, swap them anyways just for testing.

A tip for the future would be dont cut two wires side by side, or at the same length, cut them an inch or so apart so you know which one is shorter and which one is longer. This also aids in putting male and female connectors such as splicing your stereo wires, since the connectors are not side by side, the wire harness bundle does not get too fat with a bunch of splices side by side, hense in tight locations, you dont have to stuff a fat bundle into a small area.

Edit; I think there may be a fuse that you are missing. What I meant above is the bulb or the fuse may look good visibaly but in reality, something is blown???

checked everything all fuses and bulbs and stilll. what is odd is that only the front left sidemarker wont work. everything is else works perfect. when i did the connection, the bulb went out and smelled something electrical burning inside like were all the fuses are at under the dash.

i also checked the voltage and it shows there is current going to the wires but only 4v not 12v like normal.

Could it be my signal relay jacked up?

I have seen this before with only one marker not working, with a good wire diagram you should see where the markers branch off from the rest of the light harness, I believe that your problem is there. You have an 8 Volt, voltage drop (12-4=8) on that wire due to the burning smell me thinks. Run a seperate power wire or ground wire to the marker to test the theory.

Good Idea from Duane, try running a wire from the power screw on the fuse box just to see if it works

sorry i didnt mean to make it seem like i ignore your responses. specially you duane. it seems like that is the deal. i dont know how far the wire got burned but most likely to where it connects under the dash, and seems a pain int he world to replace. idk well see whats up.
