Default Leak in passenger rear floor. Where to look for first?

Hi guys, I have a leak that is getting the carpet behind the passenger seat wet. Where do I look first? Tailights? Windows?

I would check sunroof if you have one or the side hatch windows. I would think the tail lights leaking would go right into the spare tire well.

What would I check for in the windows? The seal around it? How would I reseal them?

As for the tailights, would I have to tighten something down?

To do it so they will never leak again you have to remove them and put in a new window seal and reassemble. The taillights have to be removed and taken apart where the lense meets the housing and reseal them and put them back together.

Hope that helps.

Sit inside the car and have a friend run some water from the water hose on the car in different areas to see if you can spot the leak. That is what I did and it worked.

I am sure you were upset but that is the only way to find the leaks, lol.

if you have an Si with a sunroof, its the drain tubes that are clogged. either at the top or at the bottom or both. take the he3adliner off and drop the sunroof assembly and figure it out. the tubes end behind the bumper. take it off and poke thru the fitting to clear out debris.

if you dont have a sunroof, then i guess its your hatch or door.

leaking taillight gasket is not going to get your carpet under your seat wet.... it just pools up in the spare tire area.

Allow me to clarify, it's not an Si so it doesn't have a sunroof which cancels out the drain tubes. So it would be the hatch (trunk?) or door (passenger door?)

i have a little of that in my hatch too. In my case, it's the rear side windows. if it's leaking into the spare tire area- check the hinges on those rear windows and make sure they aren't sagging and make sure the clip holds them shut and open closes snug.

I have no water going into my spare tire area. just the carpet behind the passenger seat.

well if it not the original hatch or has been removed before I noticed my was leaking before I re-removed it a week ago before paint. You can unbolt the hatch and silicone it it should take care of it. But the only way to find out have a bud sit inside hose it down and if the water pools up by the hatch hydraulic arm that holds it up thats where mine was leaking.
