What is the material used in the hondata gasket? I looks like plain old plastic to me. Any clue what is being used? I feel kinda jipped on buying one for 60 bucks.

 

You should feel jipped...its a $60 gasket. Dont worry I bought one too looks like high temp plastic or some other cheap material, I've heard of people just cutting one from a stock gasket or a similar material...

I thought that it is a Teflon variation myself.

More power to you if you can find the material for less. Usually you have to buy a big piece, then spend hours cutting it out without slipping.

It looks like they had the piece laser cut so that everything came out the same on every one...

So if they are all exactly the same, is everybody elses not fitting right over the intake ports on cyl 1 ?

 

Laser cut? I hope not Mine fitted like crap...the holes were off by 1/4 of an inch and the ports weren't fully lined up either...

 

Wow...to think I was gonna buy one. Guess I'll skip it if it doesn't line up properly.

So what did you do to solve the problem with it not port matched? dremel?

 

Mine just needed a minor trim, in a couple places, with a utility knife. No big deal.
It was easy to cut.

They line up with the studs just fine. But the fit around the ports in horrible.
