93 Del Sol D16z6 boggs/stalls can't drive home unless it sits.
The car had been sitting of about 8 months, I recently purchased it and have been driving around the neighborhood to make sure nothing major was wrong for about 2 weeks now. Took it out today for a job hunt and it drove great all day long until I headed home. It kept bogging down and then taking off to the point that it could not be driven.
I am mechanically incline so I was thinking either TPS or fuel pump but I wanted some insight since I have not worked on a Honda before. I did search and read through all 5 pages but found nothing usefull.

did not have very much gas in it to when I got it, filled it up this morning. have not replaced fuel filter.
What other info would you like to know? This car will idle fine, idle will fluctuate when it is not drivable but has only stalled once or twice.

Hard to tell with this infor. Is better to storage a car with a full tank to avoid rust build up to the tank and fuel pump. But if the car runs OK for two weeks do not look like the fuel pump. Change the fuel filter as someone already said. If the problem persists perform a fuel pressure test and you may inspect you fuel injectors too, could be clogged.
If you do not have a Code, the TPS should be OK!

My bet would be the ignition coil inside the distributor is getting hot. If fuel pressure is a problem, the engine will hesitate and jump, not just bog. TPS would not be affected by heat.

ok, thanks for the info. I will put a filter on it and see. I have a tps and used fuel pump I can try if I have to. I think I will get some HEAT to get rid of any water that might be in the tank as well. I will also look into the distributor as well. I will update tomorrow.
ok, changed the filter, cleaned the fuel pump strainer, and changed the fuel pump. Car is running great. Still has some bad gas but that will run out soon. thanks for the help!
