STRIPPED WHEEL STUD
i have a cluster**** of problems with my crx. i have a 1991 crx si and i went to take my rims off to change the tires and i stripped a wheel stud. it spins freely foward and freely backwards. i am wondering what my options are as far as changing that one bad and it has to happen soon. i dont feel too safe driving it very fast because i suspect the wheel bearings are bad on that side "whenever i do a left hand turn i hear a loud squealing as i go around the corner and it dont sound like tires squealing it sounds like metal rubbing the **** out of each other". im probably going to get some new wheel bearings from napa and start on this this weekend "this my only driver car and i dont feel like asking the old battleaxe "my grandma, as what my grandpa calls her RIP" to borrow her cavalier to drive my woman back and forth to school. and my guestimate was try to unbolt the lca from the car completely, the uca assembly by the shock tower, the brake line, the cv axle, the tierod end and that bar that bolts to the front mount "bar with one end threaded and the other end flat with 2 holes". i found a tutorial here how to get out the bearing without use of a hydraulic press. idk tho id just like to know how id go about getting the goddamn rim off. sorry for the rambling just those tires are bald and i can start to see the belt and thats scaring me.
its just one front wheel stud, pass side. pry the brake shield back and stick vise grips in there and try twisting off the lugnut??? im lost
