Well ladies and gentlemen I've been out of the game for about a good 8 years and was wondering which is better nowadays...coil-overs or just springs with shocks. Sorry for the amateurishness lol. I have a 1990 CRX DX (EF8) chillin in my garage and just want to fix it up. It currently has coil-overs that are trash (not sure what I type of coil-over I have its been so long) and why do I say that? I can't go over a lil bump without having the car seriously become a low rider with air-bags. The car seriously jumps all over the place with those coil-over...I got what I paid for basically.
Well I'm here seeking your guys help to give me advice with purchasing new suspension. What I'm looking for is a very stiff ride no bouncing and I'm not going to race or anything I'm pretty much over the racing scene just want to fix it up for fun but still want a nice suspension at least decent. I would like to hit turns pretty hard if possible lol.
Price range: $300-$500
Color: Open
Brand: Open
Coil-overs or Spring w/shocks it doesn't matter as long as it does what I said from the description I gave above.
One last thing I want to be able to at least fit two fingers between fender and tires. - Advice.. how many inches is that?
Thank you for your help!

Honestly, I would keep saving.
You could get tockico illumnia's and ground controls or someting, but im pretty sure that would blow your budget.
There is also Progress but i dont know how stiff they would be.

Coilovers are likely to be more expensive that the shock & spring combo, but it gets you ride height adjustability. If this is a daily driver, and you know about how much you want to lower it so you can buy appropriate springs, and your budget is constrained, then I would just go with shocks & springs.
If having the ability to adjust the ride height without buying new springs is important, then go for coilovers, but spend the money on a quality set.

Would it be possible to set up a link to the H&R springs and the shocks...I've google'd them and I seen **** load. I do feel kinda embarrassed for asking these questions, but I just don't want to make the same mistake by buying really trash suspension. Thank you in advance.

Very stiff, but no bouncing, will require very good shocks that can handle the spring rates. Lowering springs are also not usually "very stiff", so something more race oriented will be needed.
I would keep saving until $800 - $1,000 is available to spend.

I've been searching the net and speaking with homies and it does seem that I would have to at least spend over $600 to get a decent set. Ok let's say I'm willing to spend $650-$800 at the most what's a good set up please leave a link or model of the set will be helpful. Thanks again guys!

6-800. Koni yellows (sports) and some sort of lowering spring OR Ground control/skunk2, some sort of coilover.

All these posts and no one mentioned TEIN?! Great ride for street, sturdy construction and rebuild-able. Super street coilovers or FLEX. Best bang for the buck I think and definitely under a grand. Especially used...
I didn't metion them becuase they don't fit his budget. At least I have never seen the ones you metion for what he's looking to spend.
Basics I guess would work, but I had them for a while and I want impressed at all.
