help: symptom missfire in cylinders

Default help: symptom missfire in cylinders

i got a cel with a missfire in cyl 4 and 2

its random. the cel will go away when i park. it then comes back when i drive.

that could be the issue?

how do i diagnose the problem?

2002 civic ex 5spd

Could be the injectors, spark plugs, bad connection on the ignition coils, etc.

I'll write something up if I have enough time later this evening.

get an obd2 scanner and analyze the fuel trim data...that will give clues on what type of misfire it is

how long since your car has had a tune up? i would start at spark plugs and ignition coil

its never been done. planning on it asap. i thought i would fix this issue as well.
i did try new sparks already. no difference as to this issue.

i was thinking the coil packs, but they are about 100 each. kind of expensive just to replace and see if they are the issue. so i wanted a way to diagnose the issue before buying them.

As noted, it's best to just have it scanned, then post the information (Freeze Data, codes, etc) on here. Then someone can help determine what the problem is.

Sorry that I have not had enough time to write something up. It's a rather lengthy process.
