Slight Misfire: Help
2004 Honda Civic EX
1.7L VTEC
Automatic
95k Odometer
----------------------------------------
Alright well last year around this time of the season, my car acted up a little bit. It only happened 3 times last year during the winter and now it's starting to do it again now. When I first start my car up, usually after I've driven it a little bit, it sounds like a Subaru. It'll only last for like 5-10 seconds and then it stops.
I took it to my Dad's shop where we hooked it up to the scanner and it said there was a misfire in cylinders 1 and 3. I have already changed the spark plugs back in October. I have not changed the coil packs. I did notice when I was changing the spark plugs that when I removed the coil packs from left to right they would have a brownish discoloration to them as I moved further to the right. The very left one didn't have any discoloration to it but #2 had a little bit and so did #3 and #4 had it the most. I'm not sure if this would have any relation to the misfire.
I'm just confused why it did it a few times last year during the winter and then never do it again until a few weeks ago. Any suggestions?
