My current POS LSD racing 6 pack clutch is starting to slip. I need to replace it soon but I do not have much money to spend. I am looking at the Clutch Masters Stage 1 FX100 kit. When I dyno/tuned my car last year is was making something like 166whp/155ftlbs. Will this clutch hold that power?

What engine are you on? If it's just about any B series you'll be fine. If it's a d16 making that torque you might want to consider getting a step up.

 

Wouldn't touch that clutch with a 80 foot flag pole.....

Competition Clutches. The best money can buy. Not only do I use CC, but all my friends do, and even my tuner does (3rd best tuner on east coast). Competition Clutches always do as they say and do not fail. EBAY has them for quite cheap (actual resellers, not fakes) and work great.

 

I'll vouch for competition clutches. I've used centerforce, clutchmasters, exedy, and competition...and by far the best has been the competition. 4 puck sprung isnt harsh at all and holds awesome. Cant go wrong when Inline Pro recommends somethin.

The stage 2 competition is only rated at 150tq?

An 80% increase in Tq capacity on a D series, if you think about it, the car only has say 70 lowest and 110 highest (96ft lbs on stock d16z6 from factory) and 80% of 96 is 76, so 96+76=172 so I'd say its spot on.

Competition Clutches doesn't lie to their customers like other company's, you wouldn't believe the amount of complaints I've heard ACT get because someone got a stage 2 and It didn't do what it was supposed to (in theory as to as what they advertise).

You can't go wrong trusting CC.....

I have their stage 4 ready to go in my del sol (1620 is the part number)
So 250% of 96 is 240 so 96+240=336 torque.

REMEMBER, this is Tq. Rating, not HP. You cannot rate a clutch by its HP holding capacity (at least I feel you shouldn't). Although a stock Z6 from factory is 96 ft lbs of tq, it has 120hp from factory.

 

That shows TQ at the crank. My numbers are from the wheels...

 

Even so, your crank will produce higher numbers then you wheel output.

Also, most of the kits are 250-350, might as well go up to a stage 3 or 4 (my stage 4 was only 350 shipped)
