My first suspension kit, need last minute advice
SO I have posted here a few weeks ago about shocks, struts, springs and brakes for my 97 Accord SE coupe. Well, I am about a day from purchasing everything and want to make sure I get the right, or best products. I will go over exactly what I want again and please let me know your opinion on what to get.
1997 Accord SE Coupe
I want to replace shocks/struts and add springs for about a 1" drop. I do not want it slammed, just a lower, racier look like some of the newer Accords. I also would like a slightly stiffer ride. Right now the steering just feels so loose, and I hate it. I would like a ride more like my moms 2007 Civic.
I want to get everything I need for a complete brake job, I assume I need 4 calipers, 2 sets of pads and 4 rotors.
I have 4 17" rims coming as well and my local tire guy said if I buy tires from him, he will put all my suspension and brake stuff on for about $300 so I think I might go that route.
So if you can give me some recomendations and where to get a good deal, I would be greatly appreciated.

You dont have to replace your calipers unless they are frozen. They can be quite expensive, so if you dont have to replace them i wouldnt.
he rotors may be able to be turned, for around 20 bucks each. Generally they can be replaced for right around 23 or so. i Would just replace them.
For the steering being loose, try replace inner and outer tie rods, and ball joints. Make sure you have the aligned after doing so.
If you dont buy the tires how much is he going to charge?

You dont have to break the bank on all these upgrades.
Whats your budget?
Simple is better.
Coilovers are the optimal choice but they can get pricey.
Shocks...tokico, koni, kyb.. all their ots shocks are nice and will provide a good upgrade from stock.
Leave your brakes stock. Your not tracking the car so why spend the money.
Rubber is always important.
Do your research here carefully.
Too soft a compound and you'll be lucky to get 20K out of them.
Too hard and you'll feel like your riding on flintstones tires.
The tire rack is a good place to read up on ratings for tires.
I prefer Falken for a daily street tire, but there are many out there that will provide a nice quiet ride and be responsive.
If your lowering your car any reputable spring you buy will be a step up from stock.
No need to buy race springs for the street.
Keep in mind when you lower a car you must do some sort of camber correction or your tires will wear out on the inside very quickly.
Shop around there are many shops that have weekly specials. You dont mention where your from so i dont know what direction to send you

while most of your post was opinion this part is often not the case. you can be neg 2deg all day as long as your toe is near zero. you can go out a tad, like .05" or less up front and still have great tire wear. camber kits are not needed in most cars. slammed ones may be a different story but slammed cars have a whole 'nother kind of owner.
