Default 30/30 vs 40/40 prop valve??

Long story short, after a long battle i got my GSR calipers installed with 89 prelude 15/16 MC and 91 EX knuckles.

40/40 prop valve i tryed using was leaking from one of the bottom ports so i just threw my 30/30(car oridinally 1991 canadian DX) on so can get the car home at least.

We bled the whole system, all calipers seem to work fine, MC is fine. I replace all the bleeder screws.

The pedal feels a bit "soft" and it doesnt brake all that great. I can get it lock up if i want to but it feels that it just needs alot more travel in order to slow me down.

Is that because i got the 30/30 on there?

Its only for the time being, im going to get another 40/40 that doest leak and rebleed the system again. Just want to make sure that the lack of braking power is due to the proportion valve.

Sorry for keeping this long, any help?

Are all the pieces, new or rebuilt? MC should be rebuilt at least when upgrading.

If the prop valve is leaking, well then everything else isn't going to work.

Let me know if you need a 40/40. I can ship you one for $40.

3 calipers are from a working GSR, MC is junk yard and one caliper is brand new.

I am not using the leaking prop valve. Im on the stock 30/30 and there are no leaks in the system.

So would a wrong prop valve cause the brakes to be a bit softer?

Did u bleed it from front left to right rear. And front right to left rear? That's the proper bleed procedure. The prop valve is connecting the brakes that way. Also check for a vacuum leak.

It's passenger rear, driver front, driver rear, passenger front. This is the correct order to bleed your brakes, you always start furthest away from the master cylinder.

What tool do you use to bleed the system? If everything is ghetto driven than why not continue. Get a air hose and disconnect the brake line on the MC and open up the bleed valves on each caliper (shown above), one by one.

We bled the system in the different order using a clear hose and the pop bottle and pumping the brakes/putting to the floor method.

^^^ kinda lost you there

They starting to feel ALOT better, thats just the brand new pads and rotors are breaking in.

I will bleed the brakes in the correct order once i get the 40/40 on the this weekend.

Thnanks for the order information, i didnt know that.

Actually we did bleed the system in the corret order, i just double shecked with my ftriend.

Still no one really answered my question though. Will the 40/40 vallve make my brakes stronger? Or will make them work correctly, i should say?

to answer your question, if your missing the 15/16 MC or 4040 prop valve.your brake pedal is gonna feel mushy and your brakes might lock up.

yes. 3030 = softer than 4040
lx booster = softer than ex booster

Don’t be smoked out the game and go rebuilding your mc when you can go buy a new one.
