So I came acrossed a rare HRC ECU & Tuner for an SP2 RC51. It was 1,000 bucks for the setup but HRC no long makes or sales this idea.
Do you guys think it would be worth buying it or passing on it because it really isn't worth the buy. I don't really need it but it would be cool to have.

I confirmed it was the real deal... do you think it's worth buying it? I know it's super rare and I'd like to have it but idk if it's worth buying or not.
that's up to you... 1k is your call.
If I had an SP I might be inclined... but then again, there also may be a better option. I do know that the HRC rc30 and 45 units are rare/valuable, but so were the bikes.
it's a borderline call for me, a for sure buy if it was a little lower in price. One usually sees a bottom in the market for this stuff between 10-13 years or so after the initial usage... then after a few more years they do start going back up in price again.
The thing is, will you ever be able to get 1k for an ecu for an sp2 in the future? what else is included?
It would be nice if this ecu was attached to a factor motor... :-P

Yeah I like half and half on it but if it was definitely a little cheaper I would snag this. I mean I know a long time down the road it MIGHT be worth something because the RC race line of bikes have become pretty rare.
It's the ECU & Tuner but that's it and honestly I think I might pass on it and let it go to someone that would really know what to do with it. I honestly don't need it just something cool to have I guess.
Yeah if it was hooked to say one of Nicky Hayden/Colin Edwards race bike motors no doubt would I fork up some bones for that lol

Are you sure it's for an SP2? Most of the HRC Basic Racers I've heard of were SP1 based.
I'd also have to wonder who has the know-how to tune the ECU. There are probably more MoTeC trained shops than HRC.
