94 EG hatch/99 D16Y7/P07 ECU - Won't start after changing timing belt
Well I just purchased a 94 civic hatch and it has a 99 D16Y7. My question is what do I need to make it run right? Right now its not idling right it stays on for 10 sec then shuts off by itself.
P.S How can I tell what model(CX,VX,EX) Eg I have? Sorry guys I'm new to D series and civics I have a DA.

Does it have any check engine lights? What ECU? Any maintenance or parts replaced recently?

Ok so a thing I found out was that the motor had a timing belt with 103 teeths and its supposed to have 104 so i replaced the timing belt and now it doesn't want to start at all. Can anyone put up the firing order for me please I searched and didn't find it. The car has fuel and spark any other suggestions?
Given that you have spark and fuel, you need to triple check the mechanical timing because it is probably off. Post pictures of the cam and crank at TDC1.
Ok I will tomorrow. I have spark but im not sure where the spark plug wires go and was wondering how they went.
Ok i just checked the wires and they are were there supposed to be so tomorrow I will check the timing belt once again and compression. Thanks for the help
The timing belt is on correctly. The car now turns on but idles weird and if I give it gas it turns off, but if I give it gas slowly it accelerates but has no power. Anyone know what could be wrong?
did you check all your grounds? i had similar problems after a swap and tb install whats your idle like for the few seconds it stays on??
Its good at first den out of no where it accelerates up to 3-4k rpm by itself and cuts off. I haven't really I will check that out tomorrow.

given that your using a obd2 d16 96-00 swap TDC is 12 degrees on those motors not 16degrees like 88-95 so set your IGNITION timing to (12) degrees... other than that i got nothing you got timing or fuel problems but just a reminder

i dnt know about ur reving to 3-4 k but you really do need a chipped ecu even with that po6 it will run like ****. a po6 is made for a 1.5 fuel and timing maps and your running a 1.6 so of course its gonna run weird.
This car is giving me a hard time, my friend has the original d15b7 that is supposed to come with this car but has a blown headgasket and I'm thinking of fixing that one and swapping it into my car due to that this motor began to overheat now and the thermostat is not stuck so i'm assuming the head is not good. Would ya'll suggest to do that?
