D16Y8 Valve cover webbing??
So today i went down to my powder coater to get my D16Y8 valve cover coated. He told me I would have to cut the webbing out of the inside, due to not being able to get out all the sand from sand blasting. I was wondering, is the webbing in there only to quiet the valve assembly while running? Or does it in anyway effect the running of the car? I ask because I notice my old D16Y7 valve cover did not have any webbing??? Can somebody fill me in? Thanks.
prob the pcv baffle. also if it cannot be removed (poss riveted in) you'll have to make sure its absolutely perfectly clean before install. washing it in a solvent tank and than with soap and water should be ok.
I bought one for my brothers car, also D16Y8, that was already coated and it had the baffles and stuff still on the underside of the cover. It turned out pretty good, and I thought it was fairly inexpensive. The company name is TRG coating. Its on ebay as well.
I wouldn't remove it, its there for a reason. Just be sure to clean it really good before reinstalling.

^ yeah I've used them before, they do great work. I just wanted to help out the local economy. The shop highly recommended taking it out to grantee no sand from staying in there. So johnjw, I was planning on grinding the rivets off with my air gun, any advice?
