no thermostat fan switch on the housing
okay guys, doing an obd0 b16 swap into a 91 civic dx/std using a conversion harness and a p28 with a b16 basemap from Phearable.net...
My question is since the obd0 b16 did not come with the switch on the thermostat housing to kick the radiator fan on do we need to get a thermostat cover from an obd1 b16 so that we can connect this sensor? or since we have used an obd0 to obd1 conversion harness is that unnecessary?
My thinking is that yes we do need to connect the sensor since we are running an obd1 ecu and it looks for it but since we are using the conversion harness does the signal for this sensor come from somewhere else such as the temp sensor in the head and the conversion harness tricks the ecu into thinking its the thermostat switch.
I hope my question makes at least a little bit of sense.. thanks in advance for any help!

i just read that the two wire sensor on the back of the block with the two push on style connectors is the thermostat switch for that motor.. is that correct? if so i assume that i cut the current plug off the harness and replace it with a push on connector on both wires and connect it up.. correct?
Yes, on obd0 motors the fan switch is located on the back of the block close to the oil filter. Just your stock harness should already hace fuese connectors on it.
