Will a 245 width tire fit on a 17x8 rim. Will there be any bead seat issues I've seen 235 so if the 245 don't work Ill use the smaller ones but just wondering how wide I can get. Does anyone have a set up like this or is this a stupid idea. I will have to roll my fenders to fit them but I have a buddy to handle that.

Most 245/45-17 tires are approved for mounting on rims 7.5-9.0 inches wide, so yes, they can be mounted on 17x8. However, if this is going on your '98 Prelude, those tires are HUGE. Is this for track use? For street use, you're right, it's a "stupid idea" (your words). Those are way too big, and you'd be MUCH better off getting 205/45-17, which can't go on 17x8 safely (they're approved for rims 6.5-7.5" wide).
