Any 2.5" Exhausts similar to a Thermal Exhaust?
Since I don't have much first hand experience with various exhaust systems and how they sound, I thought I would see what suggestions you guys have.
I like the deep throaty tone of the Thermal Exhaust system. However, with the mods to my engine, I should have an exhaust with 2.5" piping. Since Thermal is 2.25", I don't think I will get the most out of my engine.
So, like the topic says.... Can anyone recommend a good 2.5" exhaust system that as a deep throaty tone & sound similar to a Thermal? Also, I wouldn't want it to be any louder than a thermal.... a little quiter would even be preferred (although, I'm not necessarily meaning as quit as WS or SP).
Thanks for your help.

Anyone?
Oh, and I know there are exhausts like Hytech and SMSP, but they are a bit out of my price range. I am looking for something comparable in price to the Thermal as well.
I hope you guys can help me...... Thanks!

good luck findind ANY pre-made systems with 2.5" piping
I just may have to deal with being robbed of horsepower for a will with my stock exhaust while I save up for a good (ie. Expensive
) exhaust. (But I will be oh, so close to that 200hp N/A mark
)Oh, well....
Any advice is appreciated.... Thanks.

I was looking at the Classic Thermal Cat-Back System. But I've been told by most people that it only has 2.25" piping. Are you sure about that being 2.5" piping the whole way??
I was inquiring to buy one on groupbuy.com and the seller told me that his Thermal R&D Rep told him that they are all 2.25" (except of course the turbo system which is 3")

sounds about right
I highly doubt your going to hit the 200whp mark with a modest exhaust

As we speak (ok, correspond through this forum) I received this reply from Thermal R&D's "Info" department about there piping size (finally, I only sent the question two weeks ago):
"We do not offer any systems in 2.5". We offer 2.25" and 3" for your
vehicle. I honestly think that you will be just fine with 2.25"
performance-wise. Also, a 2.5" system would be very, very loud on a NA
vehicle."
Now.... Do you really think I would be happy with their 2.25" system? (I have my doubts) Or do you think they are underestamating my mods (I just told them that I had a GSR with significant mods), or are they just trying to push there product? (probably a little of both).
Well, anyway.... I just thought I would let you know, bike boy80, that your Thermal probably isn't 2.5"

I know i read the dimentions somewhere of it being 2.5inch, i just cant find the link now, also compairing it to my 2.5 inch carsound cat it is the same diameter if not just a bit larger, I am almost 100% sure that mine is not 2 1/4 inch diameter, also compairing it to my old cat back on my teg a tanabe rm which is 60mm which i believe translates to 2 3/8 inch, the thermal is definatly larger than the rm
