how do you remove the tps?
i keep hearing that it's rivets holding the tps in place, but when i looked at it, it looked like the bottom end of two screws extending out about .25" from the tps. anyone seen this before? how do i get it off?
I was told you have to take the throttle body off, and take a flat head screwdriver and a hammer and just hit the screw in the unscrew direction (does that make anysense?).
Because when they put those tps's on, its a bolt that the head rounds off.
I just got one last night, and thats what the guy told me, and he's very knowledgeable.

why the hell would honda attach something like that? grrr. almost sounds like i should just try and fix the one i have on there right now. the salvage guys broke the connect and one pin off. i think that if i dremel some more of the plastic off, i could solder some wires on there.
Just use a dremel to notch the screws. Then use a flat head screwdriver to take it off like a regular screw. It is a lot easier to do with the TB off the car but can be done w/o taking the TB off.

what your looking at is a really strange head of a screw. After you take the old one off, you can use regular screws to put the new one on.
Honda didn't want anyone to be able to take the tps off because they need to be positioned just right, so they used those tamper proof screws. guess they just didn't trust us

it needs to be positioned? does that have to go with setting the tps voltage i keep hearing about? where can i get more information on that?

i did this earlier today...i dont get it!!
why would honda make one of the most needed sensors unavailable!! noone is gonna buy a new tbody for $500..then they go and put rivets in instead of a screw!! i should call headquarters my self and bitch!! how doumb!!
anywayz..i had a grinding wheel in my dads truck i just took that and grinded the rivet untill the head was off..then took pliers and unscrewed it..
hmm...even though i wasnt throwing a tps code i figured id try another tps to see if it would either help my stuttering problem and/or fix my code 1...anywayz the sttuttering is 99% gone!! but still a code 1...i figured it would be along shot if it fixed that being ive tried EVERYTHING.. but she runs better now..

and as far as adjusting them, I just set mine somewhere in the middle and crossed my fingers. It works fine, but that could just be dumb luck.
I have a problem like this too. My car idle is jumping up and down like its going to die or something. But when you guys say adjust the screw on the throttle body....I dont see that thing. I really dont want to mess anything up either! AH man
