car wont start 90ef hatch
i just had alarm put in& 8k hid kit laong with 2 10inch speakers and wired up my deck so the deck is running straight to battery for power and so is the amp but i got a toggle for my amp to turn on/off so basiclly my problem is my battery keeps dying i was told my alternator was bad had it tested sure enought it was so replaced it car was running fine then suddenly battery died while driving jump started it made it home now battery is dead again i changed pos wires check grounds added new grounds check alternator everything checks out fine car starts but afters couple days battery dies when car is sitting....please any help would be useful thanks
do you have your deck wired so it will only come on when the ignition is on? imo it seems that the deck is still drawing power from the battery somehow.
well if you are trying to run a sound system that has too much wattage for that battery and you keep killing them then you should probably run 2 batteries. (to be on the safe side)

why is your stereo hooked up super ghetto like? your amp is supposed to be hooked up to the remote turn on on your deck so it only turns on when the stereo is turned on. and your stereo is supposed to have two power sources going to it. a constant power to keep the clock and presets and settings saved, and a "switched" wire from the ignition so your radio isn't constantly drawing power.
that said, make sure that the power wire isn't accidentally hitting the remote terminal, i had that happen once, one or two strands from my power wire didn't go into the amp and were touching the remote terminal causing the amp to always stay on.
