Quick Carb Question
I was looking into buying a new carburetor
for my bike at bikebandit.com and came into
a problem. The carb I'm looking at comes in
two different mount types; standard and flange.
So I just need to know the difference between
the two and how to tell which one I need.
Thanks

just pulling this out of my own thoughts, my 76 xl350 carb is just round and slips into a rubber boot that bolts to the head, a flanged carb would probably bolt straight to the head. I would wait till someone else chimes in though cause I really dont know for sure. other people are probably gonna wanna know what the make, model and year are though.
Yeah mines the same way, using a rubber boot to hold the carb. I'm assuming this is
a standard mount. Because a flange mount would probably be like you said and attach to the motor directly.

Indeed... most all street bikes are based like this. It helps isolate the carbs from vibration during normal daily riding. A hard mount is better suited for track riding.
