The car has around 90k miles on it. It doesn't smoke or leak at all. I'll check the oil at 2k or so, and it's very low. Is this ring related? What should be my first step to resolving this issue? Thanks so much.

VTEC is not engaged too often. Typically only when merging, is it engaged. I've read that it's somewhat common.

Oil last used- Mobil 1 Synthetic.

 

stock engagement or do you have kpro and is it tuned? any other mods? any metal shavings in the oil pan or on the bolt last time you changed it? have you always used mobil 1 synthetic?...i would recommend switching a different synthetic in the future

 

I have tried different oils to see if it resolves the issue. Nothing has changed.

Car is stock,minus an AEM SRI, that's it.

I do not recall seeing any shavings. I will be changing the oil again here soon, and will drive another car in the mean time.(It's low,again.)

 

check and see if your pcv valve is broke or not..plus its a cheap replacement part anyways. if it is it lets oil be burnt really easy

i notice i loose alil oil myself in my 06 type S using castrol syntech. shouldn't be anything major. its probably just burning off some. my car has 48k on it. i maybe loose a quart every 4k
