Default Cold air intake insulate

Hi planning on buying a cold air intake and i was wondering if insulating the pipe from the outside (to keep the pipe cooler) would work and if so what should i use to insulate it? Thanks

No your not going to gain any power from it. I wouldn't even waste your money on one there useless on d17's, there just noise makers.

I have a long ram CAI on my d17 and I actually don't notice much noise unless I bring it up around 4 to 5k rpms. It's nice because when I want to be quiet and sneaky, I just keep my rpms low...but when I want it to howl, I let it wind out. Anyway, the real noise makers are the exhaust tips that make your lil Honda sound like a lawn mower. Insulating the pipe is worthless...put a CAI in for the aesthetic beauty of your engine bay. And also, because the stock intake it stupid, box-like, and the silencer on that thing is worthless.

Don't know that it would really do any good, but have at it.
