You wont. You cannot put an older engine in a newer car. Maybe you could get whatever that test is called ( BAR I think) and try to dyno it and sniff test it to pass it that way. But I am pretty sure your setup is illegal in all 48 states. That is the legal answer to your question.

There are other answers that you will not get on this forum due to legal reasons.

Are you moving to cali or your just buying the car form Michigan?? If you are just moving to Cali then keep your residence in Michigan and keep your car registered in Michigan. I live in California but im a Tennessee resident so its registered there so no worries about stupid california emmission laws. State refs cant say anything about the big turbo under my hood. Lovin it LOL!!

I am pretty sure Cali is like other states and requires after a set period of time that you obtain local registration of your property. The only persons that can truely float around without restiction are students. That means that after something like 90 days you must get your license changed and your registration moved.

Actually students yes and you forgot military since we dont voluntarily move around its more of a "you will go here!". but with that being said the only reason you have to move your registration over to another state is being a resident of that state ie. paying state taxes. This is where being a student or military comes in handy when living in states with retarded smog laws like California. In my home of record we dont do smog which is kind of handy.
