The 142 Spherical is made out high quality aluminum while the 490 Spherical is made out of stainless steel and custom weighted for maximum performance. The Spherical line of billet shift ***** are CNC-machined and anodized for durability and show-quality appearance. 147 Spherical shift ***** measure 47mm; 490 Spherical shift ***** measure 50mm. Both series can be used for either 5-speed or 6-speed shift patterns.

490LE Spherical
The 490-LE shift ***** are machined out of billet stainless steel and then custom weighted for maximum performance. Unlike the regular BLOX 490 shift *****, the 490-LE shift ***** are polished and then PVD coated for that glossy appearance, superior hardness and wear resistance.

Are the 490's heavier then the 142?

 

yes, the 490s are weighted and the 142's are not.

i put them on the scale, and the 142's came to 0.32 lbs, where as the 490's came in at 1.08 lbs. that extra weight makes a noticeable difference when shifting.
