Noticed it was tearing for a while, and the last time I was under the car, it tore all the way through.

Is that the JDM header support?

The USDM support cannot be used with a JDM header.

Don't worry about it, that bracket is unnecessary anyway.

FWIW, the Spoon header does not use the bracket.

If it was so unnecessary then why did it bind?? and break??

How did that happen?

Not many people have broken the bracket

Of Course I think i'm the ONLY one to break the Bracket on my Toda header that connects to the JDM Header Bracket
JDM Header bracket is fine though.

My bracket broke too but mine was a USDM bracket though. I had the DC JDM header when this happened.

I've been using my USDM bracket w/ my DC JDM 4:1 for over a year now & it's still in perfect shape! Sorry to hear a bout your bracket difficulties.

Are u guys using the flex bolts with springs?
That could be the cause. Maybe the spring was too tight...

TOO much power??? I dont know. This was brought up before and a couple of guys agreed that theirs was starting to tear under the bolt; mines just tore all the way.

Flex bolts? What are they? I used the stock exhaust bolts and springs connected to a Spoon straight pipe (So it wasnt a welding the cat flange problem)

That could be the cause. Maybe the spring was too tight...
Too tight? There is a stop on the stock header to cat exhaust bolts. You cant make it too tight....Stock US exhaust springs(Dont tell me I need JDM springs)

yes you do, they are made of special material that allows it to conform and blend with the jdm header material of the dc. heheheheh

that sucks man.....i hope you fix it or at least find out why it happened. good luck and may the force be with you

good luck finding another one, I haven't been able to at all for the past 3 months. I was thinking about making my own.

BTW, if its not really needed, why did Honda put it there? Its a support bracket, supports weight of the header so its not all hanging off the flange at the motor.

i'ved gone without a header flange for the past year or so.

Mine broke off after a year. When it did, it happened at the track (pocono). It was making this terrible ringing noise, that sounded like it was coming from inside the block...I thought my engine was toast...scared the **** out of me. I stuck a long screwdriver down through the headers and applied some pressure...voila...noise was gone...smile came back to my face. Whew. I didn't bother putting one back on...it just helps to stabilize a bit, but I'd say not critical.
