need help car smoking with new exhaust

Default need help car smoking with new exhaust

just got my apexi ws2 installed on my 99 si...catback..as i started driving i noticed the car stinks like burnt rubber or something of the like..also when im at idle there is smoke coming out of the muffler? wtf...no engine smoke but alot of muffler smoke at a stop light..my car never did this..also my vtec is not loud at all with this exhaust on..i had no muffler before with just header and intake and it hit alot harder..neway...why is my car smoking/smell like burning something after install??

totally normal New exhausts burn some crap out when first being used, even new cars have this happen

u sure bro? because it thought when i hit vtec for the first time i almost blew the motor or something..freakin thing was smoking at a stop light and then i was like wtf is that smell? than i realized it was me..but ok i was worried but now im not as much if u say its normal..i checked if its rubbing against any plastic but its not..

It's also possible that there may be some plastic still on your exhaust somewhere that you overlooked and it's now burning off

^ Either tape or other packaging material.

all good now just drove it around for awhile..exhaust is way to quiet for me coming from no muffler to this..im more of a buddy club spec 2 kind of guy but if this keeps me from getting pulled over time and time again guess its what i gotta have.

I've got the ws2 on my prleude and yes it did smoke and smell like breakfast at mcdonalds for about 2-3 days. It is very quiet for an aftermarket exhaust system and is marketed as such, i've had mine for about 3 years and it has gotten progressively louder over time, but not to the point of breaking laws. i'm considering replacing the mid pipe with a resonator to bring the levels back down. If you are wanting some more sound try using a short ram intake, that will get you allot of VTEC sound. if that's what you are looking for.

bro i got a header and a short ram..my vtec sounds like a growl now..with no muffler and with my header and short ram my vtec cracked so loud u could hear it like 5 miles away..my car is so quiet now it feels like i have nothing on it..i really dont like it..i might get a high flow cat but i probably cant pass inspection with that..stupid fukin laws man.
