Default another lug nut question....

Ok sorry to post this here instead of in the wheel/tire or A/C section but I trust the opinion of the R community over the others.

I am getting my set of regamasters tomorrow hopefully and know that I am going to need to get the conical \_/ lug nut setting.

Does anyone suggest a certain brand or anything? I have been searching and for a decent price, the only ones I see are buddy club and blox.

Anyone running anything else that they would suggest? I dont need any baller lugs that are like $100.

BTW: I have black muteki lug nuts on my accord and they suck. They are beginning to rust so I will pay more for quality.

Well... get aluminum lug nuts and get some anti-seize for the studs and you won't have any problems.

You can pay $50 for Muteki or spend $100 or more for Works, Rays, Kics, Spoons, Mugens, etc. IMO they all do the same thing. As long as you use anti-seize, don't see any problems running any type of lug nuts.

Just buy the normal Gorilla or McGard lugs at the local autozone or something. They should be around $35 for a 20 pack.

Or, you could order some through Tire Rack.

With that said, I have about 3 extra brand new sets of chrome "tuner" style lugs that I have never used (they came with new wheels that I have bought). If you want a set for cheap, PM me.

And I'm indifferent on aluminum lugnuts. They do save a few ounces, but they aren't nearly as durable.

i do not think you should use anti-seize on lug nuts as it can give improper torque values. an you shouldnt need anti-seize as long as the lugs are torqued correctly and not overtightened with impact guns.

mcgard and gorilla are good for standard polished/chrome finished lugs. i went with muteki for my black open-ended extended lugs and have had no problems. i have also used mugen black lugs with success (i believe they are steel like oem so a bit heavy)

That is correct. DO NOT use any kind of 'lubricant' on your studs.

And if this car is going to do any sort of autoX or HPDE I would say stick with steel lug nuts. If you don't want the lug to scratch the wheel inside the lug hole you can get the R40 style lugs that have a seated washer, to prevent from taking paint off the wheel. Good luck

thanks for all the replies.

i found that apec sells a variety of lugs.

The main reason for getting lugs are:

1. Have to have the right seat
2. I dont want to scratch the wheels what so ever bc they are looking brand new
