5g civic motor?
hey guys, i was wondering if any of you can help me out. i have a buyer on my old motor w/c is a 93 dx...buyer's car is a 1988 CRX, and his motor is dying real bad and he doesnt want to put a b16 or b18 motor in it; so will this swap work? what are the things needed for it? thanks guys
Sup yes the swap will work. The 5g DX motor is basically the same as the 4g DX motor all besides using MPFI instead of DPFI. Thats where you get the extra 10hp. Also if he doesnt want to go to MPFI(headache wiring) just throw on his old intake manifold. But then again if it is a SI CRX then you don have to worry about wiring. Also it depends on what model of CRX hf, dx or si? On the tranny side if he has a hf tranny he is using keep the hf axles if he is using a DX tranny get dx axles.

hey thanks guys. im a noob w/ 4g's so i appreciate all the help.
so basically:
1. i need to reuse the tranny from his motor (its a dx crx), direct bolt-in, right?
2. i will need to use the obd0 harness for the new motor (93 dx), correct?
3. if i want to keep the MPFI manifold, what kind of wiring modification does it involve?
4. w/c motor mounts do i use?
thanks again

Yes use the crx dx tranny because its cable instead of hydro which came on the 92+ civics. Direct bolt. If you want MPFI you have to do some wiring here is a site with what you need to do to make your DPFI to MPFI

The motor mounts will be the same as a 92+ as well(both motors are D-series) which means they are basically the same.
