f22b?
hey guys well i know a guy who works at a towing company and they have an accord with a "hotrod motor" so they say. so i went to look at it and its an f22b. it's a dohc motor. i looked it up and it says its a jdm prelude si motor with 150 ft-lbs and 160hp. when i opened the oil cap the i could see one of the cam lobes and it doesnt look like its even been started with the new cams. they say alot of work was done to the motor but they arent sure what. the head code is PT 2 HF-1 4A. they thought it was a vtec motor but i dont think it would be? it has a tranny also. i can get it for cheap im just wondering if its worh the swap? alos the car was stolen and stripped then recovered is why they have it the motor is already out
i didnt think they were vtec heres the wiki info. next time i may be able to take the valve cover off and see.

Yes they were.. My friend had one. Vtec pulled nice on it.. I thought i read they came in Euro Accord Type R's tho? But I know for a fact they are VTEC
They are basically a h22 but with a smaller bore or something with compression. I think it would be a different kind of build since noone else build em and you will be unique basically

so is there f series swap mounts or anything for an ef? the motor is supposed to have alot of work done to it i wish i knew more about it. should be pretty quick in a hatch tho.
Yes it should.. But honestly I don't know.. Maybe H series mounts since they are basically the same but I don't know.. No experience. Search would be your best friend here. And for the work on the engine. What about h22 internals?
came in accords yes, type r no. f22b was both dohc and sohc. vtec on the sohc, never on the dohc.

i might be able to check it out some more they want 500 for the whole accord so if i can just get the motor it probably wouldnt cost much. would it be worth the swap work? i was going to go for an ls but this has more power so idk.
I had mine in a hatch as well, I used EF-H22 Mounts. When I used AVID mounts I ran into mounting issues, wouldn't sit right had to wind up modifying them, Innovative Mounts turned out to be a better bet But I still had to wind up modifying around the drivers side mount...Was just my scenario, doesn't mean it'll be yours.
In any case it's a good catch, If it does turn out that they did some work to the block you could be very well buying your way into a mid 14's high 13 second car (Depending on the accomidating hardware and what other BS weight you got hanging around in your hatch if any), I ran mine with a Port and Polish, 9lb flywheel, Stage III clutch, 3" Exaust straight pipe-no cat- and a Resonator, Skunk2 CAI, SK2 Adjustable Cam Gears, Greddy Exaust Manifold and a Chipped ECU in a 91 DX hatch, no back seat, no system, No power steering, no Air conditioning on sticky yokohama's wrapped around 16's that thing did nothing BUT move.
It is a very good engine, lots of torque!!!!!! I loved mine. As far as a swap, it's the same as any F or H swap, and the easiest option imo is an H2B swap!!
As mentioned earlier, very similar to a usdm H23

If you're going high boost, the F22 would be cheaper to build with potentially the same power capabilities and already having Iron Sleeves wouldn't require u to sleeve the block, although u could do the same in an H22 but you'd have to get sleeves.
yeah i want to boost the crap out of my accord like 17lbs. Thats the whole reason i bought the jdm f22. because i can boost it and not forreal change anything. but do you know where i can find cams or a intake manifold. or any performance parts for my car..
Search, Search, Search...
I know Bisimoto makes some SICK cams for Boosted F22 set ups but there are other products that equal or even surpass the performance of bisi's so Just get on google and pick something based on your needs.
