o/p, you could probably get some good ideas from that jetta build thread, just because it's a v/w doesn't mean sheet metal work is different. i believe they used a wrecked gti to get the rear panels, and a vr6...
i don't think they shortened the frame at all, i haven't looked at the build thread in a while though

the ef looks good. well, only a tiny bit odd. ive made a 4 door ef convertible but i dont think i have the ***** to try that...lol as for the jetta, great craftsmanship, but it looks like a side view of a 1995 tercel coupe now....http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...w=1024&bih=651

Yeah, i think it would be awesome to have the only 91 coupe. Ive seen build thread on like old muscle cars and such where theyve used doors from a coupe and moved the b piller over, etc. Id say it would be possible to use hatch or crx doors, maybe not the window or frame though. Just thought it would be funny to make on microsoft paint lol
