jdm swap help
Hey guys, I'm sure this question has been asked before quite a few times but I've been unable to find what I'm looking for flipping through the forums and on google. I have a 1995 prelude special edition that is ready for a swap. I would like to put the jdm h23 vtec in from the 97-01 accord. The one I found at a online jdm shop is rated 220 hp. I know I'm going to need to get a conversion harness for obd1 to obd2. But other than that, am I going to run into any problems? Will it bolt up to my tranny ok? Engine mounts? All that stuff? Any help/feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bryan

The H23a is only 200hp not 220 and personally I wouldn't bother swapping a OBD2 motor into a OBD1 car to only have 0.1 extra displacement over a H22a.

http://www.jdmenginedepot.com/jdm_en...Prelude/Accord I guess this is incorrect
I do remember always hearing the h23vtec being 200... I wouldnt mind going with an h22 if this is the case...however I was liking the idea of my tranny matching up better to the h23 motor

It's do-able. My buddy has an SH Prelude who did the JDM H23A VTEC swap. He said everything plugs drops and plugs in. All he had to do is use his old H22A Distributor so the connector will plug in because he said that the H23A VTEC's distributor connector has more pins.

^Yeah but the OP has a 4th gen and going from OBD1 to OBD2 as far as a car that may be modified in the future is like taking a step backwards.
only prob with H22 is OBD2. and i think ive heard that the f22, h23, and h22 trannys all can mate up to h-series motors....could b wrong. also with JDM there r a few electrical plug differences as stated.

hey op
your gonna have to change alot .lol trust me
put it this way h23vtec is obd2 right so you can only the use mechanical parts on that motor meaning ur basically just using the long block
u have to use obd1 h22 accessories which gonna cost you some more
i took the motor bc i got a good deal
h23v + all the h22 parts i need to make the motor run for free so it was worth it for me
heres my thread on pp.com its more in depth hope it can help you decide
