Icon6 1994 ACCORD F22B1 Weird Overheating

Techs,

I have searched and researched a lot and now I am really banging my hand with wall because of "Overheating" issue.

From the last one week I have overheating issue after driving for almost 30-45 mins when I stop at a traffic light in busy traffic temp gauge starts shooting up above the half mark sign then start going back when I accelerate or move WTF????????

When I bleeded first time no change same problem, second time when I bleeded by keeping Radiator cap open and heat on Full blast for almost 10 min, then with bleeder valve as well, added the coolant and issue seems to be resolved for 3 days last night I had the same OVERHEATING issue after 30-45 min on a stop when I accelerate temp gauge starts going down.

When I turned off the car after reaching home one of the Radiator fan continued for almost 8 min then went off.

Please HELP HELP & HELP

Make sure the fans are working. BOTH fans should come on when the temp goes up while the engine is running or the AC is on. Of course make sure the cooling system is full and air removed. When it starts to overheat, do the fans come on? If not then check the switch, on t-stat. The fact it stays cool while moving (enough air moving thru the rad) I don't think this is the stat. Check the fans and let us know what you find. Only one fan will run when the car is off (key removed).

Boss!

Cooling system is full and as I mentioned I have bleeded the system twice so no more air, both Fans work with AC and w/o AC not sure about the switch on t-stat??

As I mentioned I have done almost every basic attempt to resolve but

Waiting for help/suggestions!!

"When I turned off the car after reaching home one of the Radiator fan continued for almost 8 min then went off"
Wanted to be sure that "continued" did mean they come on while running. If they are then don't worry with the switch. You're down to making sure the rad is not clogged up with bugs, or something else, and replacing the thermostat.

Sorry, wasn't clear on clogged. From the outside, make sure the "fins" are clean. Both the cond and the rad. Meaning air can pass thru/between the fins. Internal would require flushing.
How are you sure the t-stat is fine? If it is not opening all the way, then you are not getting the full flow of coolant thru the system. Meaning MORE air is needed than what the fans can pull thru.

There many different ways of doing it and if you are you might as well replace the thermostat. You'll have already drained the coolant, so why not. You're two bolts away, most of the time I can get to without removing the lower hose from the housing.
Again the methods of flushing are going to vary by who you ask, so I would prefer not to start a debate here on which is best. At the parts store, ask for their suggestion while you are getting new coolant, thermostat and gasket. Might think about the hoses if they are old...and you will put you bleeding skills to work once again..lol
