WHAT´S THE SiR 1990 ENGINE?

Do your motor homework, a B16a only came in the siR1, siR2, which were put in a JDM DA integra, JDM civics, and a JDM del sol. The years were from 88-98 for those two motors.
Look at the first post, the OP is assuming there is an siR in the united states...thus insinuating there is a stock b16a in a USDM civic, which there never has been.

b16a2 and b16a3 are exact USDM versions of the JDM b16a, minus the pistons which increase compression slightly, and of course the power increase from running no emissions BS

Thats like saying the d15b and d16z6 are exactly the same. or the d16z6 and d16y8 are the same.
the d15s and d16s have different cranks, different journal dimensions, different rods, etc
the b16a series simply has different pistons
not enough to really classify it as a different motor, especially if jsut a simple rebuild with different pistons can solve the "difference"
My attempt at a better answer.......
In 1990, Civic's, crx's, and Integra's could be ordered with the 1st gen OBD0 B16A from pretty much anywhere in the world Honda's were sold "except" North America. The engine came with 160hp and 111ft lbs tq in all three models along with a cable tranny.
Now, to add to that, North America got it's 1st close cousin of this engine in the 1992-93 Integra GSR models known as a B17A. It had the same head and block, with unique rotating assembly displacing 1.7L making the same 160hp, and gained 2ft lbs tq at 113.
Im 1995 (i think), the Del Sol had a limited run of the the "vtec" model, which was basically an OBD1 version of the original B16A making exactly the same power, but now used a hydro tranny.
In 1999 and 2000, the USDM Civic Si was released (Known as an SiR in Canada) which had our only other version of the B16A which still made 160hp and 111 ft lbs tq, used a hydro tanny and ran a obd2B setup.
Oversea's B16A's (outside North America) made and extra 10hp rated at 170hp starting in 1991 in their Civic EG and Del Sol model cars right up to the year 2000. The extra power came from P30 pistons which bumper compression from 10.2:1 to 10.4:1, other wise it was the same! Japan and other countries were lucky in that "ALL" years of B16A engines came with tranny's that "could" have the LSD option. USDM never got lsd at all with that engine
