Hi everyone,

I'm new here - I just got an 99 Accord V6 for my son, my very first question is what antifreeze do you use, I mean on 99 accord? I have lot of them left over in my house : Prestone, GM Dex-Cool Prestone (used for 97 Avalon) - Can I use one of them?

I will have many more questions on that car that need your help..

Green is fine. Brand should not matter as long as you mix them appropriately.

 

Does it have blue coolant or green?

Blue is a 100k mile coolant (probably doesn't have this) but if you have it, keep it.

Green you *can* mix but it's so cheap from Honda I just stick to the OEM stuff

 

Do not mix orange Dex-Cool with the green stuff. It will coagulate and turn into a sludge that will block the cooling passages.

Use the green antifreeze with a 50/50 mix.

 

some already are 50/50 mixed..ready to use
