Default s2000 with a miss

i changed the plugs in my 02 yesterday and i put the ngk iridiums in it. (part number from the owners manual) now the car is missing worse than what it was before. it is sluggish under about 3.5k and seems to mis pretty bad up until vtec. at idle it sounds kinda like spark knock but im not sure why. plugs are oem replacements and are gapped right. the plugs that came out of it were champions. they are just copper plugs. supposed to be like 1.99 a piece at advance. they were also gapped between .0051 and .0062. no 2 plugs were gapped the same. any ideas what would cause it to miss this bad?

im going to try to reset the ecu in a bit and start it and let it idle for about 15 min so it can relearn the idle and see if that does anything. anything else i should try?

I thought they changed the plugs on the 00-02. you might have used the wrong plugs

mine is doing this too.

I changed my plugs and it fixed my problem for the most part.

at idle it'll still miss occasionally. Pissing me off!

what he said. i think you should change your plugs again here is a little information about iridium plugs.

"Should I gap my Iridium Plugs?

The manufacturers say NO.
This is because most people do not know how to properly gap a spark plug, and the center electrodes on the ultra-fine iridium can easily snap if mishandled. There is no warranty for snapped center electrodes. The manufacturers say an iridium spark plug will run so much better than a traditional plug, even if it is not gapped for that motor, that they would prefer you just leave it rather than risk snapping the center electrode. the new plugs are gapped to whatever the owners manual says. i cant remember exactly what it is now. i am going to change them again and see if it fixes it. maybe i did break one of the electrodes. so we will try it again sometime soon. lol

I would like into the plug wires if the correct gap doesn't work.
