LOST? F22? H22? what would you do?
Hey there, im new here was goody.
I have been in the honda game a while. I recently purchased a 95 accord, f22b1, v tech. Runs reall strong at 180k miles.
So long story short I want a power upgrade.
I got a good amount of cash to do either of these options and I want the accord populations input. Would you go with a H22a swap, or a F22b1 Bisimoto cam build with exhaust and cold air set up. Fill me in on some thoughts I need some help.

H22 would be the way to go if you're staying NA. Much faster than a Bisi F22B1 cammed motor. I had one before and went H22 and loved it.
It'll cost a grip just to build a F22B1 to make it fast. Having a cam in will make it stronger than any other SOHC but the B1 cammed still won't be up to the DOHC VTEC's level.

I have a f22a1 with a mild build with Bisimoto products and made 165 whp. Now, compared to an h22 swapped accord is very similar and the h22 actually will b cheaper route. But you'll b another accord with an h22 swap. Don't get me wrong, h22 in a accord is badass. But when u pop ur hoo. And people see the bisimoti header, they rather gather around your car than a h swap.
What are your goals?

And it definitely is not "cheaper" if you do things correctly.
Haha, I don't think people generally just stop with swapping in a stock H22. Most do mild builds on them as well. One of the main reasons for going H is the availability of aftermarket parts. Besides Bisimoto Engineering I can only think of one or two companies that produce stuff for the F series.

Stick with the F

It doesn't cost any more than if you were to fully build an H
But if your just looking to swap in an extra 40hp. A used, beat and battered H22 it's cheaper for the short term.
P.S. I don't have any Bisimoto Engineering parts, yet!

What's new. I'm not up too to much these days, trying to save up some bills so I can get back to tinkering away at my F-n-Accord over the winter...
f22b1 turbo. nuff said.
Dont go all motor with the F. I respect ghost for doing it, and he has the skill and knowledge to do it.
However I would recommend just an H22a swap with a mild build or an F22B turbo setup. If you have fabrication skills or deep pockets, I would highly recommend the K24 turbo build which not many have done yet. Its most def. the way to go.
if you want to make serious power (over 250 whp) with the H, you will need to replace the sleeves.
The F comes with Iron sleeves and relatively low compression. I have heard that the ring landings as well as the head studs are the weak aspects of the motor, so I would recommend replacing those if you want to be over 300whp.
None of this information is from experience, just from hours and hours of research so please correct me if I say something that isnt true.

Sure, an Accord with an H22 swap is just another Accord with a swap, but an Accord with some fancy bolt-ons on a stock-looking F22 is just another Accord with bolt-ons. But all of it is a moot point to me really. "Popping the hood" and showing off a common swap, or header as you suggest... For what? A couple of "ooh aahs"? I hardly think this should be a factor in a performance upgrade. Anything I do to any of my cars is for my own personal enjoyment, not for some stranger's enjoyment as he/she passes by.
Maybe I'm just the "wierd" one here.
Yo thanks for the replies. I'm understanding a lot of good points here, but I am not considering going turbo, for the only reason this is my daily driver. But after seeing GHOST's post I'm considering a f22 build! Thank guys, really cleared up alot for me. I'm also considering of going to the best of both worlds. Just found an accord with a H22 for cheap. Think of just taking that one. I love our horrible economy!
This is a mentality that I don't really understand. Now, I am probably the minority on this, but I think this is one of the silliest things I've heard.

so I was kinda forced to take my turbo off to smog it. That would be the downer if you live were they smog.
