can you run pro 2's in a stock ls-vtec?
i got a stock bottom end ls-vtec. right now im making 502whp. im trying to see how far it will go. i acquired a set of skunk2 pro2s and want to put them in but dont no if they will hit the pistons or not?
i got this video on youtube. it shows the dyno chart. its a gt 4088,stock rods and pistons. arp rod bolts, precision 750 intercooler, top speed top mount turbo manifold, and a built b16 head with what i think is gsr cams. 93 oct. not sure how to add a link to youtube but you can type this in and you can see it.

No you cant. Pro 2's will overly compress your stock valve springs and crush your seals/guides. You need heavy duty valve springs and retainers to run those cams. Type R valve springs wont work either. Must be aftermarket.
Considering your making that much power boosted, i would assume your somewhat built with low compression pistons?? If thats the case, i wouldnt worry too much about the pistons hitting the valves. You just wont be able to adjust the cams as much as you would with stock cams. Your tuner should know more about it, just ask them...

the head is fully built. i just need to know if there is enough valve clearance with the stock ls pistons.
