Turbo B16 vs. CSRT-4 (video inside)
Ok, so I went to the local 1/8 mile drag strip this weekend and did two runs against a Caliber SRT-4 (2.4liter I believe). They didn't have the timer up yet (new track). I've got 8psi on a Garrett T3/T4OE 57trim w/ .63A/R. This guy said he's running completely stock (10psi) but I've heard they can run up to 15psi on the factory TD04. I got the jump on him both times (my launch control & 2100lbs>his factory boost control & 3200lbs) but once he gained traction he started reeling me in hard. I'm not too familiar w/ the CSRT-4's but it was a lot meaner than I expected! I hear they run low 14's stock. So, I'm confused... for anyone that knows, is it 10psi stock or 15psi on these? Was he pulling a fast one on me? is my tune just that shitty? or are they just that quick? haha!
p.s. at 8psi I'd like to think I could at least approach low 14's if not break into the high 13's w/ a B16... maybe I'm wrong though...
Thoughts? This is 2 videos of the runs I'm talking about... Hopefully this helps...

Well u should make 300hp or really close to it to the wheels my boy ran 8.2s in the 1/8 on drag radials with an ebay kit and i know that over grown neon wont run 8.2 so u need a retune bro
crap, that's what I thought... I blow fire out the back beyween shifts on hard acceleration and blow alot of black smoke out of the back too ( ihave no cat)...

I doubt they run 10 psi being that the neon ran 15 psi stock and they have more HP than the neon. The caliber should run around the same times as the neon low 14s high 13s.
update: so, I ran across a guy w/ a Mazda Speed3 last night and did a run from a 40 roll and walked him. Now I'm seriously suspicious that CSRT-4 has to have some type of mods because both cars from the factory are pretty evenly matched in stock form. From what I understand, the MS3 is the most powerful pocket rocket from the factory in the US right now... right? On my way home I ran into the guy w/ the Caliber and he STILL insisted that his car was stock (I didn't want to do any runs because he had his wife & kiddos w/ him). I asked him about the whole 10psi vs 15psi and was told that it'll approach 15psi at redline. His top end seemed better than mine too. It's all pretty funny but I am really confused now... :/
p.s. with the SRT4 stages I know it keeps a stock look but I'm not even sure if the CSRT-4's have stages or not...

So, got the car re-tuned today and it's official... the tune I had before sucked donkey *****! The car takes off so much better from a dead stop and actually feels like it came from the factory w/ a turbo now. A few bugs to still hammer out but all in all feels MUCH better!!! Videos of the Civic-vs-CSRT4 mayhem will recommence again @ the next 8th mile event which will be in a week or two... "This time it's PERSONAL!"... haha! Sorry, had to throw a cheesy movie one liner in there... :D
Little bit of an update after a retune on 10psi and running on the Spring... got rid of my MBC. wasn't reliable and took a **** on me in the middle of tuning the car. This isn't the Caliber SRT-4 but a 5th gen. Mustang w/ Hpipe/axleback. 90 octane tune and 4.10's I ran on the new tune last night. Same dragway btw...

nice kill. were you dyno tuned? if so what kind of power are you making?
i have known people that insist their car is stock because it has stock hardware, even if it has an ecu flash or boost controller....which can add a lot to a stock boosted car.

The car has only been street tuned recently. The car is running on a S300, standard t3/T4OE 57trim and 10psi spring w/ no boost controller. Other than that it's completely stock. I need to take it to a dyno night and see what she's putting down but the opportunity hasn't presented itself yet. I've got a CSRT-4 to kill first though...
Turbo B16 vs CSRT4: mission accomplished.... 2 runs 1st run w/ no brake boosting and pulled 1 car. 2nd run only got nastier brake boosting barely getting into it at 3psi. Was over as soon as it started.... Ended up at 3 cars and only getting worse if we kept going. Woot!
