Default Personel accidents

I am looking to start riding and I have been researching alot lately, everyone here should post some accidents and horrific events they have experienced while riding. Pictures and stories would be great!

I personally think that while it is great to read about incidents and what could happen to you when things go south, I only do it from time to time, since you DON'T want for it to being stuck in your head all the time you are riding. It will affect you. Specially for a new rider. Be CAUTIOUS, not paranoid.

Still, seeing the sad side from time to time will help remind you of your own mortality and fragility, things that we seem to forget when we don our gear and hop on our personal comets.

Here's a couple stuff from this page:

I'm sure some of the other guys will chime in. I was just to lazy to search around old threads.

haha thats another quote, i was gonna say "those that are going down". my point is that no matter how many stories you hear and pictures you see, if you're serious about riding a motorcycle you have to accept the fact that you will go down one day. you probably won't see it coming and thats what makes everything you've heard pointless.

Riding sumo, running around doing the leg out thing like all the cool kids do. Lost the front end, put my foot down to save it and my foot just STOPPED while me and the bike kept going. Didn't even bother trying to get back up, knew immediately I ****ed something up.

Full gear + mx boots. Sometimes **** happens.

And on like the 3rd time back on the bike since doing that, I was running on some gravel roads trying to find a campsite my friends were staying at. We have never camped there before, so I had no idea where they were. So I'm coasting to an intersetion after checking out the top sites when my buddy goes cruising by. So after an OMGHI2U wave, I go to click it into first and make the turn(road starts to go uphill now) well I go from second to neutral and lose all my momentum.

Perfect family guy moment. Balanced for a second then no no no no NO NO NO NO on the ground. damnit.
