So my brake lights turn on with the running lights but don't get brighter when the brakes are applied. I've searched for an answer and tried all the suggestions to no avail.

1) changed known working bulbs from another lude
2) traded mounting plate for the bulbs from the same prelude
3) used electrical connector cleaner on EVERY connection
4) swapped multiple fuses and toubleshooting attempts on both cars
5) end result is my lude's lights don't get brighter with any combo of switched fuses/relays but the other lude still works flawlesly w/ whatever combo I tried

My high mount brake lights work so the brake switch isn't the culprit, so short of ripping out the dash and interior looking for a bad ground or short, is there anything else I should check? I'd appreciate any help
This is a 4th gen btw

 

Fixed it. There's a ground held down by a 10mm bolt on the harness running between the taillights in the trunk. Mine looked just a little corroded, so I took it off, sprayed the ground w/ electrical connector cleaner, scraped the bolting surface to bare metal and screwed the ground back down. Worked like a charm

 

Good to hear you worked it out and fixed it. I have had
similar issues at times caused by poor grounds. Last year
i cleaned and reconnected all the most important ones in
my prelude just to help ensure fewer probs in the future.
