Default Need a little help/advice with leaking M/T (pics)

So right now I'm rebuilding my d15b6 and after I pulled the motor I found out the transmission was leaking oil from what I think is the oil drain or filler cap. The spot where its leaking from looks like it was covered up somehow by the last owner but it's definitely leaking again now. Anyone know a way around this? Is it a slight crack in the bell housing or is it the plug leaking or what? I'm thinking of taking it to a muffler shop to get it just welded up or maybe all i need is a new drain/filler plug? Wost case scenario I'll go to a junk yard and buy a replacement M/T housing.

Here's what it looks like:

I can take more pics in a second if needed...

i sure hope that isn't that insta weld stuff from knechts that you mold together... that is the "fill" hole, and the pita bastard snap ring access spot that you have to spread apart to split the case open

thats not the fill hole but it is the access hole to get the snap ring out to split the case. it looks like its cracked by the way the jbweld is on there. d series cable trannys are fairly easy to come by and not too expensive. if it were me i would either get another tranny or try and get that one welded its kinda hard to weld oil contaminated aluminum though.

Thanks for the replies guys. I took the "stuff" off and a piece of the tranny around the plug was chipped off and there was a small hole. So it looks like I'm going to need a new transmission. If anyone around LA has got one shoot me a PM!
